The Shift: Compete Where Patients Are Searching
The first decision was to commit to direct-to-patient marketing. Too many imaging centers put growth in the hands of one referral source or a small circle of personal injury attorneys. It works... until it doesn’t.
Instead, our partner decided to meet patients where they already were: Google.
We launched:
- Local Google campaigns targeting patients actively searching for MRI, CT, or ultrasound.
- Conversion-driven campaigns tracked from the first click to the booked scan.
The result? Patients came directly to them,reducing reliance on external sources and building a predictable growth engine.
Takeaway: Compete in the arena patients use every day. If they can’t find you online, someone else is getting their scan.

Here’s the truth: patients won’t trust a 3.9-star imaging center. In healthcare, reputation is currency.
The goal we set for every center we work with:
- Minimum 4.7 stars
- 500+ reviews per location
That’s the tipping point where trust becomes a growth engine.
To get there, we implemented:
- Automated review requests after every scan
- AI-supported review replies within 5 minutes
- NFC “tap-to-review” stands inside waiting rooms
The shift was immediate. Patients who might never have left feedback suddenly had a frictionless way to do so. And when prospective patients compared providers online, our client stood out as the obvious, trusted choice.

Redesigning the Patient Access Journey

Clicks don’t matter if they don’t turn into booked scans. That’s where most centers leak volume — patients hit “contact us” forms or dead-end phone lines and drop off.
Our solution was to redesign the patient access journey:
- Service-specific landing pages optimized for conversion
- Mobile-first design (over 70% of traffic is mobile)
- HIPAA-compliant self-scheduling so patients could book instantly, 24/7
We also layered in AI voice technology — SARA, the Smart Assistant for Radiology Access. She answers calls after hours, captures missed calls, and even follows up on no-shows.
The impact was clear: calendars filled, fewer patients were lost, and the front desk team was no longer stretched beyond capacity.
Takeaway: Remove friction. Every click, every call, every patient touchpoint must lead directly to a scheduled appointment.
Leveraging AI + Automation

Perhaps the most transformative shift we saw was the adoption of AI and automation.
AI didn’t replace staff — it multiplied them.
- Every review answered within minutes
- Every after-hours patient had an option to book
In an industry where human staff are stretched thin, automation ensures that no patient is left waiting, unheard, or unbooked.
Takeaway: AI is not the future. It’s the present. Centers using it today are already pulling ahead.
